Tanja Orning
    Tanja Orning graduated from The Norwegian State Academy of Music in 1990, where she studied with Aage Kvalbein and Bjørn Solum, followed by two years in London with William Pleeth. As a Fulbrighter she went to Indiana, USA, where she in 1994 received "Master of Music in Performance" under Janos Starker. Tanja has performed as a soloist with several orchestras among them Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and the Oslo University Orchestra. Since 1994 Tanja has held the position as principal cellist of the Stavanger Symphony Orhestra in addition to being an activ soloist and chambermusician. Tanja performs contemporary music in the Ametri String Quartet, the improvisation group Brave New World and the rockband Wunderkammer. She teaches cello at the Music Conservatory of Stavanger.
